45th Hangover - Pod-Captain [Event!]

[Action | 950 Beulah Street]

[The Captain will greet his not!daughter, cheerful as ever, and even ask her about her classes.]

[Action | Around Town]

[The Captain is walking around, sober and cheerful. Two things you don't see every day.

He waves to people he sees.

He might also ask you about work or your families.]

[Action | The Pharmacy]

[The Captain rarely comes to work with a smile. Almost as rare as coming to work sober.

Not only that, he steps up and gets right to work. No complaints and no trying to hide in the back room.]

[Action | Add-on | In The Sky]

[Superman fighting The Captain would be a cool fight.

This is not that fight.

A very angry Captain dressed in his trench coat, sneakers, camo cargo pants and black star t-shirt is doing battle with a mockingly cheerful Mark Matthews dressed in typical Mayfield clothing.

Did I mention they are both flying. Colliding in the air with punches and kicks.]

I am going to stomp your cabbage patch ☠☠☠☠!

I'd watch your language, buddy.

There might be kids nearby that didn't force their daddies to leave and their mommies to drink.

Pharmacy!

[ Ilsa's stocking up on first aid supplies and some of the commonly found household treatments. Her smile dims only slightly when she sees The Captain being cheerful. ]

Good morning! Just getting ready for winter, making sure we have everything for the flu season.

[ If The Captain has been droned, it means another trip to get any surgical supplies and medications. ]

Pharmacy!

[Being cheerful is always a bad sign for him, isn't it?]

[ The Captian being cheerful and rude is a new thing, causing Ilsa to scan him. She replies with an acid smile to cover her distress at seeing him like this. ]

Oh, no - those aren't for me, my husband prefers curves to women who look like underage boys.

[ Something's not right about the Captain, and she has the sneaking suspicion that this ain't him. ]

[He looks like The Captain, but when did The Captain have a better insult than to curse you?

Even his drone self is usually just cheerful, never really mean.]

[ Ilsa smiles again, unwilling to get into mudslinging. This feels familiar to her, something teasing on the edge of her memory. ]

Nothing else today!

[ She doesn't think she needs to lift his house keys to search his place for clues on what happened. ]

[identity profile] heartstar-blues.livejournal.com 2011-10-25 05:13 pm (UTC)(link)
[He waves as she leaves before going to his next customer.]
ooeeooahah: (Hm)

[ Ilsa heads straight for The Captain's house, knocking at the door, hoping everyone is out for the day. She doesn't want to abuse anyone to be able to search the premises, but that doesn't mean she won't be able to stun them. ]

[nope.avi

Unfortunately, said house is kind of preoccupied by one purple-haired moe who opens the door soon after.
]

Ah, hello! Are you a friend of my fa-- er, not-really-my father?
ooeeooahah: (Hm)

[ That stumble is interesting, and Ilsa's not met this person before. ]

Yes, I know The Captain.

[ Ilsa waits to see how the young lady responds to the title. ]

[identity profile] distortits.livejournal.com 2011-10-25 09:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh. Is there anything you needed from him, then?

[Fujino eyes her suspiciously, just in case.]
ooeeooahah: (smile)

[personal profile] ooeeooahah 2011-10-25 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I... spoke with someone who looked like him, earlier this morning.

[ Ilsa tilts her head, unconsciously, as she tries to sense The Captain's usual emotional signature. ]

I wanted to check to see if he was okay.

[identity profile] distortits.livejournal.com 2011-10-25 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
...you too?

[She sighs and opens the door a little more.]

I don't know what's wrong. I thought he was droned at first, but still...
ooeeooahah: (Hm)

[personal profile] ooeeooahah 2011-10-25 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Ilsa almost smiles in relief. ] This isn't a normal droning. Even when he's rude, The Captain isn't cutting. When did this start, and is there anything new in the house?

[identity profile] distortits.livejournal.com 2011-10-26 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, I believe it started this morning? He asked me on how I was doing on my classes and such. When I replied that I was doing fine, he made some...rather strange remarks. Sarcasm, I suppose.

[She shrugs.]

Not sure if there was anything else new. Do you want to go check, just in case?
ooeeooahah: (worried)

[personal profile] ooeeooahah 2011-10-26 03:45 pm (UTC)(link)
The Captain doesn't do sarcastic, and the person I saw at the pharmacy was wearing his face, but it sure wasn't him.

I would like to check the house and grounds, please. This is starting to sound like something I ran across at home - if it is, we don't have much time.

[identity profile] heartstar-blues.livejournal.com 2011-10-26 04:21 pm (UTC)(link)
[As for the house, everything could seem normal.

Except for the new giant pods laying in the garden.

The not!mom has either been exceptionally skilled with tending the garden or that's not normal.]
ooeeooahah: (What?)

[personal profile] ooeeooahah 2011-10-26 04:44 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Ilsa carefully looks the pods over from a distance. They aren't exactly like the ones at home, those were more like a Venus Flytrap on steroids. She backs off to the patio, and asks the young woman: ]

Are these a project of yours? They weren't here this summer.
