Bender 9 - Working

[[Location: The Grocery Store. ]]

[The Captain is ringing up your food!

It appears The Captain does have responsibilities and depression won't make those go away. So he goes to work. Unfortunately he hasn't held down a steady job almost ever in his life, so this was frustrating for all involved.

You'll see him. He is the only register open today. His line is huge. His manager keeps coming over to berate him. The Captain was not doing that great a job!

Any of these events are possible!:

--The Captain rang up your stuff then accidentally locked the register. Now you have to wait for a manager and you have an ugly, grumpy ex-superhero staring at you. Feel free to thread jack anyone who takes this option as they are only a few people ahead of you!

--Same as above but it happened to the person in front of you or a couple ahead. Others feel free to thread jack this one and chat it up in the line that may never end.

--He gave you the wrong change, the register drawer is closed, he'd have to get a manager. It took 10 minutes for the last guy to get his correct change back. Do you risk it? Again, thread jacking is great here too.

--You notice he has a hidden flask under the register because he doesn't fear drinking in front of customers, just his manager. Do you call him out on it? Do you report him? Do you ignore him?

--You notice he stole a grape or opened something he just scanned for you to grab a quick bite. He's hungry. What do you do?

--He is ringing your stuff up and is obviously a bit dyslexic. He is typing the numbers in wrong. It's taking forever.

--You have a coupon. He is staring at you blankly, he obviously has no clue what that is. What do you do?

Take any of these or make up one of your own for the store just to draw comments and go! Enjoy!]

[ Maxxie is trying to buy alcohol for the fifth time. While perfectly legal in Britain, he is very underage in America. He's just hoping that the Captain's drunk/sympathetic enough to ring him up for it. There's also a packet of cigarettes and a few sheets of thin paper. ]

[The Captain stares at him deadpan for a few moments. Was he going to deny this kid his purchases while smelling of alcohol himself?

Another long moment before he says.]

How much did the shelf say that paper was?

[No obvious price tag, The Captain had no clue. He also did not seem like he planned to stop the kid. The Captain was amazingly responsible.]
