[After a confusing conversation with a strange young man. The Captain is putting out a call to the town.]
"Okay people, I got a question. Who here has read comic books back home?"
[The Captain is sure the guy was just crazy. Mostly sure.]

Date: 2010-11-25 03:16 am (UTC)So you're that kind of super hero!
How did you get your powers? Do you have a cool origin story? Do you have an arch nemesis? Do you work in a team or are you a lone fighter of justice?

Date: 2010-11-25 03:31 am (UTC)Oh, yeah. Uh. Real cool origin story.
I worked with a team. We beat our nemesis. He was a ☠☠☠☠. An invincible dinosaur who hates humans because monkey used to ride him and embarrass him. We put him in a bit metal ball, kicked him off the 51st stated and blew him up.

...
Wait, seriously?

Date: 2010-11-25 03:42 am (UTC)As for my origin story, uh.
[He's obviously stalling to thing.]
I got my powers from a couple of little green aliens. It's called the Heart Star. It's magic.
And nothing else happened. Nothing at all.
Also, yes I am serious. I couldn't make this ☠☠☠☠ up. He had all sorts of crazy stuff. Like naked ninja's, giant psychic baby heads, broccoli men, you name it.

Date: 2010-11-25 03:45 am (UTC)That doesn't sound that out there, though it sounds like it belongs in a video game.

Date: 2010-11-25 03:52 am (UTC)I can't be a super soldier like Captain America. Or a radioactive roid rage ☠☠☠☠ like The Hulk. Or born with it like the X-Men and other mutant wack jobs in tights.

Date: 2010-11-25 03:55 am (UTC)W-w-wait a minute! Those... those are all names of comic book heroes I found in the comic book store.

Date: 2010-11-25 03:57 am (UTC)....
☠☠☠☠. Am I really a ☠☠☠☠ comic? Maybe you're crazy.

Date: 2010-11-25 03:59 am (UTC)I'm not crazy, I just bought them this past week. But if they are successful and famous heroes, why wouldn't they have a comic about them? Sir Aurum is a famous super hero from my world, and he has comics and video games, and anime, and statues, and all sorts of stuff about him.!

Date: 2010-11-25 04:03 am (UTC)[Someone doesn't play video games.]
Because they aren't famous. People don't like the x-men because they aren't human. People don't like the Hulk because he is a monster. People...
Well everyone loves ☠☠☠☠ Captain America. Well Americans do, not so sure about Germans or Russians.

Date: 2010-11-25 04:07 am (UTC)There was quite a bit of Captain America stuff I noticed, so that's probably true. But are you sure they aren't famous? I mean, they're heroes right? Heroes are famous. Successful ones at least.

Date: 2010-11-25 04:11 am (UTC)I am pretty sure the others aren't. I don't know what sort of place you come from but back home being a hero doesn't mean people like you. The X-men weren't quite human so people hate them for it. There was something going on with politics and having them hunted, I don't know I don't pay much attention to that ☠☠☠☠.
So wait, you've heard of them but not Nextwave?

Date: 2010-11-25 04:19 am (UTC)Not that I saw at the store, but maybe that comes out a different week?

Date: 2010-11-25 04:23 am (UTC)... How would I know? I'm not a comic.
[Though now his feelings are hurt.]

Date: 2010-11-25 04:28 am (UTC)Don't worry, I'll keep an eye out. I plan on going in ever week on delivery day, so if it ever comes in I'll tell you.
Too bad his comic is a one shot run of 9 comics.
Date: 2010-11-25 04:29 am (UTC)And thanks kid. I guess that means something.
And not silver age. :c
Date: 2010-11-25 04:46 am (UTC)Nope,it was a sorta protest, The Captain is all original.
Date: 2010-11-25 04:50 am (UTC)What would he think about the comics available in Mayfeild?
Date: 2010-11-25 04:58 am (UTC)Of course, I could never be as great as Sir Aurum, even trying to be like him is an impossible dream....
What ones are available?
Date: 2010-11-25 05:03 am (UTC)I'm not going to be an Avenger or beat Captain America in a fight but I still helped take down Beyond.
I think all the ones that would be found in America during the 1950s?
Date: 2010-11-25 05:08 am (UTC)Haha, he's stupid and avoids books of all sorts. Someone should push him towards them.
Date: 2010-11-25 05:11 am (UTC)Oh man, the comic book store is Almaz' new favourite place of all time!
Date: 2010-11-25 05:14 am (UTC)It will end so poorly.
Date: 2010-11-25 05:17 am (UTC)I know how hard it is to get a cool name. I tried all sorts of names. I was Captain Marvel once, but who wasn't? I ended up having to pay some crazy melon farmer to get the name The Captain.
Those are usually the most amusing though.
Date: 2010-11-25 05:20 am (UTC)Yeah they are
